This should be an interesting game. It surely has been an interesting week, listening to all of the "experts" tell us how MSU's powerful defense will shut down Nebraska's offense and win the game. Don't think it's going to be that easy.
Game time situation, weather not the best. 48-50 degrees with a 50% chance of rain. Both teams have to play in it. Running the ball should not be a problem but passing will. State does have a very good defense, but so do the Huskers. Thinking the big difference will be this. NU's offensive line and the turn-over margain. The Big Red cannot afford to do what it did last year and put the ball on the ground. Do you think Coach Pelini stressed ball security at practice this week?
This year State's offense is clicking. They have a very good quarterback, running game and passing attack. The Black Shirts will have their hands full, but they are strong on the line, and the linebackers and backfield have been playing well. They must get off to a fast start, however, not like in previous games. That is key.
This is not a "must win" game, as far as fighting for a B1G Championship. Nebraska can lose and still qualify to go to Indianapolis. Believe that? Me either. If NU wants to get back into the "Conversation", it is a necessity. Not only that, if you've looked at the rest of the schedule, not one of those remaining games will be easy. None of them will just roll over. Should be interesting.
Kick-off is at 8:14. At least that's the time on the TV schedule. The place to be is Coldbrew's in Roswell, 880 Holcomb Bridge Rd. Won't you join GFN and your Husker Friends for what should be a great time?
Hope to see you and yours this Saturday night.
GO BIG RED!!!
