It's been almost two weeks since we've seen our beloved Huskers play a game of football. Some would argue it's been more than that. Not me, however. They have played some very good football and some not-very-good. Michigan State was a little of both. It's over and Me-thinks a lot was learned, both by players and coaches. All things being equal, it should help them through the rest of the season.
This weekend doesn't get any easier. Nor any weekend after this to the end of the season. But we are going to talk about this weekend first. It's the other NU, Northwestern University, Evanston, Il. The Huskers and the Wildcats have put on some very exciting games the the first three years of competing in the B1G. The cumulative difference in scoring over these contests is a total of one point. WOW! Nebraska holds the edge. These guys show up and play. Looking for a rival? Could be right here. Just call it NU.
This game will be no different than the others, in my view. They are athletic, talented, and very well coached. Some of their coaches have plied their trade right alongside some of our coaches at other schools in the past. They know each other.
It is also home-coming for the 8,367 students there. The Wildcats are rolling out new and "special" UnderArmour uniforms for the contest. Gosh, I hope they are not as "special" as the HIDEOUS ones that our young men wore. Egads!!! Can you say, "Duct tape"!?
It's coming down to the wire again. Huskers win by 7. Should be a nail-biter.
The place to be is Coldbrew's in Roswell, 880 Holcomb Bridge RD. Time is 730 PM. Come early, as usual, for a good seat. We'll have a raffle and fun, fun, fun. Won't you join us?
See ya there,
Ric, Athene, Patty, Jackie, Cheryl, Ross, and Mikahla
GO BIG RED!!!
