Well, it's finally time. Seems like forever. We've all read the reports, listened to the broadcasts, podcasts, etc. But now it's time to put the rubber on the road, and "get it on!"
The "experts" have not been too kind in their pre-season predictions. We'll just have to wait and see how accurate they are and what the final outcome will be. The games will be played and the cards will fall where they may.
All we can do is watch and root for our young men to do their very best.
Which gets me to the point at hand. This Saturday, 3:30 PM, Coldbrews in Roswell, 880 Holcomb Bridge Rd., on TV, Florida Atlantic vs. Nebraska.
The game would have a bigger aura over it if Carl Pelini had not been a bad boy (sniff-sniff) and gotten fired. They do, however, have a really good new coach and some great athletes. Should be a really good contest.
I guess that I should qualify that by saying it will be better for the Huskers. I'm thinking 35-10.
Mimmo, Coldbrew's owner, has installed several new and larger TVs and most fun is a huge Sony projection screen that I have actually seen a football game on and it is wonderful. Big, big picture! Think we'll love it.
As always, come early, be patient, as there are earlier games and we will have to wait our turn for seating, which is as always on a first come, first served basis. We would ask everyone to be generous, and if needed, share extra seats with fellow Husker fans.
As always, we'll have a raffle. We have some really fun items again this year and hope everyone participates in support of the Georgians For Nebraska Scholarship Fund.
Looking forward to seeing all of you. Seems like forever.
